Where can I meet new people in a safe environment?
At the Glass City Singles dances, and by dining out at local restaurants with local singles.
 
What if I haven't danced in a long time, or I don't know how to dance?
Come early for the Friday night dances lessons and for just $6, you can either brush up on your skills or learn new dances...waltz, swing, or other dances. We have professional instructors who will show you the footwork.
 
What if no one asks me to dance?
Ask THEM to dance! If one person turns you down, there are plenty of other people to ask.
 
What if I don't want to dance with someone who asks me?
Refuse politely. Can I cut in on another couple? The polite thing to do is to wait your turn and after the song ends, ask the person to dance.
 
What if someone is monopolizing my entire evening by asking to dance every dance?
Just explain that you came here to meet a lot of new people, politely refuse to dance every dance, and tell them you'll dance with them again before the evening is over.
 
I'm shy and not sure I can ask someone to dance.
Besides, my mother always told me that ladies don't ask men to dance. What should I do? In the 21st century, it's perfectly fine for a lady to ask a gentleman to dance. Don't be shy! Remember, HE came to the dance party to meet someone new.
 
What do I wear to the dance parties?
 Dress in your best! You want to make a great first impression when you meet new people. Be sure to wear shoes that will be comfortable for dancing. Some guys wear suits, some guys prefer sweaters or a dress shirt and dress slacks. Guys leave their ball caps at home. Ladies usually dress in skirts or dressy slacks and a nice top, or they wear dresses. Nobody wears blue jeans, sweatshirts, or t-shirts with logos or slogans on them. Some people wear black or white jeans.

You will find speed dating as a relaxing way to go about finding someone interesting. At Your Quick Date, speed-dating it’s an event where single men and women have the opportunity to meet with other single men and women by participating in five minutes mini dates over the course of an evening. Here’s how a typical evening might go. One-on-one, brief mini-dates where you ask and are asked questions by singles just like you. Fill out dating cards that shows which participants you are interested in. With in a week you will receive a letter with contact information from the mini-dates you were interested in and those that shared the same interested in you.
